Biography

Dr. Alyse Goldberg obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Toronto and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Western University where she served as one of the chief medical residents. She returned to University of Toronto to complete her training in Endocrinology and then a clinical fellowship focusing on reproductive endocrinology at Women’s College Hospital. During her training she has received awards for outstanding contributions in medical education.  She is a member of the International PCOS Network and was an author on the 2023 International Evidence based Guidelines for Assessment and Management of PCOS.

Dr Goldberg’s research interests include use if anti-obesity agents in the setting of PCOS and prior to fertility therapy.  Additionally, she is interested in the use of lifestyle interventions to optimize fertility and obstetrical outcomes. Dr Goldberg’s has authored a variety of recent journal publications regarding navigating the use of thyroid medication as well as novel anti-obesity agents, including GLP1-RA, in the setting of fertility therapy.

Clinically, Dr. Alyse Goldberg focuses on care of patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome, managing hormonal conditions in reproductive age women, hypothyroidism, as well as pregestational endocrine and metabolic optimization. She is an advocate for collaborative interdisciplinary care that will lead to long term reproductive and metabolic health. Dr Goldberg’s is driven to offer compassionate and personalized care to her patients. She also works as a part of the Women’s and Babies team at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre managing patients with gestational diabetes.

I chose to focus my clinical fellowship and current practice on reproductive endocrine conditions as these patients benefit from focused care early in their lives that will benefit their short and long term reproductive and metabolic health.
