About the position

The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) Physician position involves a combination of group practice coverage days dedicated to clinical procedures, including cycle monitoring and sonohysterograms as the “Doc-of-the-Day,” as well as days focused on clinical appointment follow-ups. Full-time working hours vary depending on clinical tasks. The role also includes rotational weekend coverage on Saturdays. Please note that hours and responsibilities may be adjusted based on the evolving operational needs of the clinic. Crucially, you will share the Founder, Dr. Dixon’s commitment to being the gold standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centers. Key Responsibilities

Consultation and Treatment

  • Conduct patient consultations and assessments, perform physical examinations, and recommend testing of patients of all genders to identify potential causes of infertility
  • Provide all necessary in-office or virtual consultations, follow-up, diagnostic testing, procedures, and treatments related to their expertise
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, embryologists, laboratory technicians, and administrative staff to ensure cohesive and comprehensive patient care
  • Manage patient care, set up treatment plans, and perform complex procedures, including egg retrievals and embryo transfers
  • Review and discuss the results of testing with patients
  • Advise patients on suitable treatment options in follow-up appointments and prescribing any medications as needed;
  • Determining and documenting protocols for all patients
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and peer review sessions to analyze cases, share knowledge, and enhance treatment strategies
  • Communicate effectively with patients and provide clear and compassionate explanation of diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures
  • Act as liaison between patients and other healthcare providers, facilitating referrals, second opinions, and coordinated care when necessary

Education and Training

  • Stay current on advancements in reproductive medicine, fertility treatments, and related medical fields through continuous professional development, including attending conferences, workshops, and seminars
  • Mentor and supervise junior physicians, residents, medical students, and other healthcare trainees to enhance their clinical skills and professional growth
  • Develop and participate in training programs for clinical staff to ensure high standards of patient care and procedural competency
  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues by presenting at internal meetings, participating in journal clubs, and contributing to educational sessions
  • Meet continuing medical education requirements of CPSO, SOGC, and CFAS
  • Attend staff meetings and company events, as directed by CEO

Research and Development

  • Engage in clinical research projects to advance field and improve patient outcomes, including designing studies, recruiting participants, and collecting data
  • Contribute to development of innovative treatment methods, technologies, and clinical practices by translating findings into clinical practice
  • Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed medical journals and present at professional conferences to disseminate knowledge
  • Collaborate with research institutions and other clinics on joint research initiatives, sharing insights and expertise

Administration

  • Maintain records related to all services rendered and document interactions
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Participate in clinic management meetings, policy development, and decision-making processes that impact clinic operations and patient care
  • Assist in development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, clinical efficiency, and overall clinic performance
  • Participate in budgeting and resource allocation discussions, providing input on staffing needs, equipment purchases, and other operational considerations

Documentation

  • Adhere to the College of Physicians and Surgeons' Medical Records Management and Medical Records Documentation policies
  • Comply with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements related to medical record-keeping, whether in paper or electronic format
  • Ensure compliance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) and the expectations set out in this document
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent conflicts about medical records from compromising patient care
  • Provide patients and authorized parties with access to or copies of all medical records in their custody or control upon request, unless an exception applies
  • When access is refused, inform the individual in writing of the refusal, the reason for the refusal, and the patient’s right to make a complaint to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC)
  • Provide patients and authorized parties with explanations of any term, code, or abbreviation used in the medical record upon request

Requirements

  • Share the founder's passion towards being the international standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centers and making the right to building a family accessible to everyone
  • Practicing medicine in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), and following the CPSO Out-of-Hospital Premises Guidelines, and Health Canada guidelines
  • Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) to practice medicine in the province of Ontario, OR potential eligibility in Ontario
  • Fellowship (or similar post-graduate training) in reproductive endocrinology
  • Medical/surgical experience in all areas of Reproductive Medicine / ART
  • Strong expertise with in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other ART-related procedures
  • Current certification and member in good standing of CPSO/RCPSC
  • At least five (5) years of specialty residency training with track record of establishing and maintain positive working relationships
  • Solid understanding of fertility treatments, procedures, and medication
  • Solid understanding of key procedures including: In-Vitro Fertilization, ICSI, Ovarian Stimulation
  • Knowledge and understanding of third-party reproduction
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Track record of punctual attendance, schedule adherence and team collaboration
  • Proficient with MS Office, EMR software, and virtual meeting technology
  • Superb clinical, research, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Track record of providing excellent patient care
  • Strong interpersonal skills and empathy with patients and staff
  • Demonstrate excellence in clinical care and commitment to career development
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours to meet patients’ needs
  • Participating in industry events (ex. CFAS, ASRM, Rounds, etc.) for continued education in the field of Reproductive Medicine
  • Must have strong English language skills
