About the position
As a Fertility Clinic Nurse, you will coordinate the day-to-day experiences of Anova’s patients, from initial consultation and cycle monitoring to the actual treatments and the early pregnancy program. You will book IVF procedures for patients based on cycle-timing, relay procedure dates, times, and instructions to patients, and explain the IVF process. You will explain which choices our patients have and what their treatment entails. Providing information and care to patients while following Anova protocols and procedures, you will guide patients every step of the way. Success in this role requires a combination of empathy, care, and skill. Crucially, you will share the founder’s passion for being the gold standard for reproductive health and fertility centres.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team of physicians, nurses, and laboratory and administrative staff on daily basis
- Educate and counsel patients on their fertility journey, including treatment plans, medications, consents, and payment schedules
- Coordinate, prepare, and educate patients on diagnostic and treatment cycles
- Provide quality care to patients as per Anova protocols and procedures
- Add information to patient care plan and implement physician instructions
- Book IVF procedures for patients based on cycle-timing and protocols
- Support patients through emotional and medical implications of fertility treatment
- Monitor patients’ recovery after egg retrievals
- Meet with patients during monitoring to discuss results and dispense medication, monitor stock levels
- Check CM stims, including stimulation sheets and requisitions as required
- Meet with REI to review results and carry out instructions for next steps
- Book IUIs and semen sample collection appointments for CM patients
- Contact patients to advise them of results and physician instructions
- Book OPUs for IVF patients when required
- Organize patient appointments
- Participate in cycle monitoring and perform intrauterine inseminations
- Initiate and discontinue IV as needed
- Maintain, clean, and sterilize instruments, exam rooms and equipment
- Comply with safety protocols and use equipment in prescribed manner
- Collect and store specimens according to SOP
Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse diploma from accredited institution
- Current BCLS/ACLS accreditation and member in good standing of CNO
- Current Professional Liability Insurance
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, particularly those pertaining to fertility treatments and patient privacy
- Knowledge of providing safe and inclusive environment to gender and sexually diverse people (2SLGBTQIA+)
- At least two (2) years of experience in fertility setting preferred
- Experience in educating and counselling patients about treatment options, procedures, potential risks, and emotional considerations
- Experience working in team setting that may include reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Comply with Code of Ethics and standards as set by College of Nurses of Ontario
- Take active role in implementing department policies, processes, and procedures by monitoring and maintaining standards of care, in conjunction with others
- Promote positive work environment and culture, be accountable for personal conduct, and actively participate in staff meetings
- Training or experience in field of infertility or Women’s Health
- High level of compassion and empathy

Hours of Operation
- 37.50 hours per week
- Working Schedule is from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Weekend and holiday work as required
